The `official' talks and discussion sessions will be held on Friday morning and afternoon and on Saturday morning. We now have a provisional programme for the meeting. Many of our visitors will be in Durham earlier in the week, and there will be additional talks during this time also. Visitors include:
Andrew Chamblin Neil Constable Roberto Emparan Nick Evans Jeff Harvey Yang-Hui He Albion Lawrence Don Marolf |
Shiraz Minwalla Dave Morrison Rob Myers Amanda Peet Michaela Petrini Gary Shiu David Tong Nick Warner |
The meeting will be held in the Dawson Building, close to the Department of Mathematical Sciences on the University Science Site. Accomodation for participants will either be at Hatfield College,
which is picturesquely located on the
peninsula near the cathedral, or at Collingwood College, close to the Science Site. It is expected that most participants will stay in College rooms on Thursday and Friday night. We will try to arrange additional accommodation for those that wish to stay longer. Breakfast will be in College. We hope to provide a
light lunch. Hatfield
College is in the centre of the city which provides a wide choice of venues for dinner.

There will be a nominal registration of £10 to cover the cost of lunches and refreshments. The cost of College Bed and Breakfast is around £25 pounds per night. We have received financial support from the Institute of Physics and the EPSRC and are seeking additional funding. Priority for financial support will be given to students and researchers at an early stage in their career, and this is expected to cover accommodation and travel within the UK (at APEX rail-fare rate). Please indicate on the form whether you hope to obtain financial support.
A map showing the location of Hatfield College, Collingwood College and the Department of Mathematical Sciences is available. Here is a link to another map which shows the location of Hatfield College (21), Collingwood College (6), the Dawson Building where the sessions will be held (13) and the Department of Mathematical Sciences (15). More information about how to get to Durham can be found here. Information about trains from London and elsewhere to Durham can be found at Railtrack's website (timetable information) and GNER's website (buying tickets online). Also you might be interested in flying directly to Newcastle Airport or Teeside Airport (flights from London, Amsterdam and many other European destinations).
