London Mathematical Society Durham Symposium
New Directions in the Model Theory of Fields
Monday 20th July - Thursday 30th July 2009

The symposium will have an instructional component, with three lecture series on each theme with two from a model theorist and two from outside.

  • (A) Model theory and category theory (Prest/Neeman/Herzog),
  • (B) Motivic integration (Scanlon/Kazhdan)
  • (C) Number theoretic and algebraic geometric conjectures (Bertrand/Zilber)

In addition, the following participants have agreed to give a lecture (to be confirmed)

Programme

All lectures take place in room CG93 (the Scarbrough lecture theatre) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences on the Science Site. Coffee and Tea are served in CM103. Meals are taken at Grey College.
