| On the evening of the 14th I was already out observing Jupiter when reports that a display was in progress were coming in. I couldn't see it though, probably due to the thin cloud all over the sky. In fact I stayed out until after 2am BST, checking the northern horizon regularly and still couldn't see anything! Eventually I went to bed and only after glancing out of the bathroom window did I see it! It was actually quite extensive and had some very fine whisps. |
