Project IV (MATH4072) 2005-06

Applications of Bayesian Analysis

M Goldstein

Description

The aim of this project is to gain an understanding of the Bayesian approach to statistical analysis by developing applications which explore the interplay between modelling, prior specification, data analysis and sensitivity analysis. These applications will be chosen to reflect the interests of the student, and may cover areas such as industrial inspection, luminescence dating, software reliability, environmental remediation, computer experiments.

Prerequisites

3H Statistical Methods, and some experience with R.

Resources

Selected readings will be provided to describe the various problem areas and the relevant Bayesian background.
