London Mathematical Society Durham Symposium - EPSRC Durham Symposium Numerical Analysis of Multiscale Problems Monday 5th July - Thursday 15th July 2010 Outline The symposium will be based around the five themes: Numerical Analysis for Multiscale PDEs. Multiscale Wave Propagation Problems. Stochastic Problems. Efficient Solvers and Computational Aspects. Application Areas. These are chosen to combine topics in which substantial theoretical advances have been made, with emerging fields (e.g. stochastic models) in which there remain many open questions. This will encourage both the presentation of coherent short courses on relatively mature recent results and the presentation of challenging open problems.
