Textbook: V. V. Prasolov, V. M. Tikhomirov, Geometry.

Tentative course content: The course concerns different geometries, such as projective, spherical, hyperbolic, in various aspects. The main objects will be kaleidoscopes and tilings.

Midterm: There will be a take-home midterm exam. The problems will be distributed on Wednesday, October 28, and will be collected in class on Monday, November 2. You may also drop the midterm before due date in the mailbox "ESM 1B" located in the entrance hall of Research I. There will be no excuses for late submissions.

Homeworks: There will be regular homework assignments.

Practice lists:

Final exam: At the end of the course, you are expected to do a presentation on a topic of your choice. Before this, by the middle of November you are required to submit a paper describing what you are going to present.

Grades will be computed according to the following rule (subject to minor changes):
