We shall not be following a book in this course. However, if you go to the library you will find many books called something like Introduction to Riemannian Geometry. Any of these will cover most if not all of what you shall see during this term. To get you started, here are some authors:

• Do Carmo;

• Lee;

• Gallot, Hulin, and Lafontaine;

• Milnor (look at the back of his excellent Morse Theory book);

• Petersen.

Assignments

Solutions to any starred questions are to be handed in to my pigeonhole in the first floor common room in the mathematics department.
